In 2019, the Bank of China undertook a significant expansion of its Sydney headquarters at 140 Sussex Street, engaging Renascent for the fitout works. This project added three additional floors to their existing office space, resulting in a comprehensive nine-level transformation. The fitout included the construction of new offices, meeting rooms, open-plan workspaces, breakout areas, and upgraded amenities, all designed to reflect the bank's commitment to excellence and innovation.
A key feature of this project was the integration of a dedicated data centre on Level 9, ensuring robust and secure data management capabilities. Comtex was responsible for delivering a $1.5 million communications infrastructure package, which encompassed structured cabling, data networks, and integrated communication systems. Early handover of the communications rooms on each floor was critical, allowing for the timely integration of IT and operational systems prior to occupancy.
The project also involved significant structural modifications, including the installation of interconnecting stairs and the refurbishment of heritage elements, blending modern functionality with historical significance. The successful completion of this fitout not only enhanced the Bank of China's operational efficiency but also set a new standard for commercial office environments in Sydney.
